I start going through the options to make a new recording but if I cancel at the "Select Region" stage, the floating FlashBack controls disappear and I have no way to bring them back. If I try to run the software again I'm told that its already running and can't be run twice. The only thing I can do next is to use the task manager to "End Task" on "Flashback Deskband", at which point it gives me an error.

The error is:
Error in recorder occurred.
Exit code: 1073807364

I updated this morning to version 2.7.6

I'm using Windows XP SP3.

Hi. I think what's happened is that on the final wizard step, you turned off the 'Show recorder toolbar during recording' setting. If that setting is off, Recorder is minimised to an icon in the system tray, normally lower right corner of your desktop. Depending on your Windows settings and how many other apps you have running there, the icon might not be visible. You can access all functions from the icon, or turn on the 'Show recorder toolbar' setting and keep the Recorder running as floating controls during recording.

Both of the options you have mentioned are ticked, I never untick these as the controller is useful to have up.

I can see the floating controller, at the bottom of my screen, all the way up to the screen you mentioned but when I click "select region" the controller disappears, and if I then cancel, it never comes back causing the issue I wrote about in the first post.

I can recreate the error every time so, I could create a screen cast of what is happening if that helps?

Ok, go for it - I can't reproduce this problem. Either put a link to the movie in the forum or email direct to support@bbsoftware.co.uk.

I needed to get on with stuff so I rolled back a version. Once I'm done doing the immediate stuff I have to do I will upgrade again and see if I can repeat the error. I guess its possible a re-install is what was needed.

Ok, but we are interested in knowing what is going wrong in the new version. If you can repeat the error, can you send us a problem report, using the instructions on this page: www.bbsoftware.co.uk/support/sendingproblemreport.aspx
