After recording a movie, you may only wish to show a small part of the recorded area in the final movie.
Use the cropping functions in BB TestAssistant, to select an area of the movie to view and export.
There are three steps to cropping and saving a movie:
Define the "cropping rectangle" – the area of the movie that will be viewed.
Tell BB TestAssistant to use this cropping rectangle when playing the movie.
After watching the "cropped" movie and ensuring that it appears correctly, tell BB TestAssistant to make the change permanent so that you can save the movie in this new size.
By using the Autoscroll feature when exporting to Flash, WMV, AVI or PPT formats, the movie will scroll to keep the mouse cursor visible in the cropped area during playback.
How to crop a movie:
Record a movie in the usual way.
Open the movie in BB TestAssistant Player in edit mode.
Select Set Cropping Rectangle from the Cropping menu or click the button on the Cropping toolbar.
A blue rectangular outline appears on the movie. Drag and resize this rectangle to enclose the area you want to view.
Select Play in Cropping Rectangle from the Cropping menu or click the button on the Cropping toolbar. BB TestAssistant will now only show the portion of the movie that is within the rectangle you previously defined.
To stop using the cropping rectangle, click the button again or uncheck the Play in Cropping Rectangle menu item.
To change the cropping rectangle, click the button again or select the Set Cropping Rectangle menu item.
When you are happy with how the cropped movie looks, select Make Cropping Permanent from the Cropping menu.
Select either the Save or Save as options to save the movie in this new format.
Note: once the Make Cropping Permanent option has been selected, it cannot be undone. If you wish to retain the movie in its original size, make sure you select Save as when saving the new cropped movie.
