Case Study - British Council
Enabling remote training
Nik Peachey manages three British Council websites that assist English language teachers across the globe. His role involves the training of overseas staff to support and promote these sites, so he needed an effective way of clearly communicating some complicated functionality.
I was able to learn how to use BB FlashBack pretty quickly and in the first morning had managed to produce visual tutorials for one of the sites. Over the next day or two I had exported the movies to Flash format, linked them together and had them published on the site to provide a site tour.
Since then I've produced multimedia presentations which have been sent out to our various centres around the globe to promote the sites. ... Showing site visitors and staff how to perform PC and website tasks in this way has really improved communication: it's faster, clearer and overcomes distance barriers.
On the whole I've been pretty impressed with the software. It's provided a single solution to quite a diverse range of problems. I haven't had to pay a fortune for it and I've been able to use it almost immediately without any training. Best of all it's helped me to provide effective support that has been easily delivered around the globe
