In the latest version of the program, you should see an “ignore” option on the error window. If you have admin rights on the account you are using please press “ignore” to continue the installation. The install should complete successfully and produce a perfectly working copy of BB FlashBack.
If you are using a slightly older version of BB FlashBack then the error window will not have an “ignore” button and thus the installer will not allow you to continue. In this case please download the latest version of the installer, and continue as described above. | | | | Installing on Windows NT The BB FlashBack player does not currently support Windows NT. Windows NT users can still run the FlashBack recorder as normal. As a workaround please browse to your BB FlashBack installation directory and run “Free FlashBack Player.exe”. This program is a mini player of FBR / FlashBack files, and while it will not allow the editing functionality of the BB FlashBack player, it will allow you to replay your movies on a Windows NT system. | | | | Installing on Windows 2003 Server The BB Capture Driver is not currently supported on Windows 2003 Server systems, however recording is still possible with the other recording modes (DirectX and GDI recording). When installing on a Windows 2003 server you will see an error message – this is related to the Capture Driver failing to install. Simply press ‘ok’ to this window and the resulting installation should work as normal simply using DirectX recording instead of the Capture Driver. All other features of BB FlashBack work as normal on Windows 2003 Server. | | | | Registration information is rejected by application Firstly please note that the owner name is case sensitive and includes spaces. Cutting and pasting the owner name and serial key is the best way to avoid any potential problems in the format of your registration information.
Secondly, as we sometimes update our serial key system, it’s important to be using the latest version of BB FlashBack. If you think your version might be out of date please download the latest installer.
Also please check the product you have installed. BB FlashBack and BB FlashBack Express are separate products, and use different serial key structures. You can see which product you have by installed by going to the “about” window.
If none of the suggestions above seem to help, please contact us providing your registration information and the error encountered for technical support. | | | | Update wizard reports “close player to continue” even though the player is not currently open. This is a known bug with version 1.3.x of the software. Please download the latest installer release, and reinstall with this version. This should give you the latest version of the software, and eliminate any problems with updating in the future. | | | | Update wizard reports “serial key not recognised” Upon checking for an update, your serial key is checked on Blueberry’s database of licences. This error means that your serial key was not found in the database, please contact us supplying your registration information for further support.
